17 May is the National Day of Norway celebrating our Constitution. Norwegians all over the world join together and celebrate thoroughly!

In Singapore we had three main events open to the whole Norwegian community. The day started with breakfast at the Norwegian Seamen's Mission, followed by a reception at Ambassador Tormod C. Endresen's residence. In the afternoon, almost 800 young and adult gathered in Fort Canning Park.The celebrations started with the traditional children's parade. More then 100 chrildren from the Norwegian Supplementary School in Singapore participated. During the parade the marching band "Kirkebakken Musikkorps" played. The parade ended with speeches from this years' 17 May committee and students from the Norwegian Supplementary School. Finally there were games for the children and a lot of ice cream, popcorn and hot dogs!

NBAS and some of our members generously agreed to contribute as sponsors for the event in Fort Canning Park.
