The Norwegian Business Association was founded in 1993, with the main objective to provide a forum on an organized and continuing basis for Norwegian organizations and their executives.

It was established as a continuation of the Norwegian Industrial Forum, but with a broader scope. Close to 170 Norwegian companies are established in Singapore. These companies represent one of the highest concentration of Norwegian business interests in any city in the world outside Norway.

NBAS is a major player in the Norwegian Community, and organizes a range of events through the year. Lunch meetings with an invited guest speaker are held around 7 times a year.

The Norwegian Seafood Dinner held once a year is a good opportunity to bring your local business associates for a dinner with an amazing range of delicious seafood courses, and when it comes to sports, our famous Peer Gynt Golf Tournament is a very popular event.

NBAS is also actively involved in promoting trade, investments, finance and industry between Norway and Singapore actively using all appropriate channels in both countries.

The members of NBAS are active in various sectors. During the last year NBAS has chosen to carry out sector specific seminars. The first Norway-Singapore Energy Conference was organised 25th September 2008 with 320 participants.

This was a good example of cooperation between NBAS, Innovation Norway, the Norwegian Embassy and the Norwegian business community in Singapore. On 19th of March 2009 this success was repeated and this time focussing on the Maritime sector with a half day seminar on “Sustainable Marine Transportation”. The event had 120 special invited guests and saw a good media coverage in Singapore.
